Solution
Advanced CAD/CAM software for laser, plasma, oxy-fuel, waterjet, punching, and routing machines, delivering optimized nesting, faster programming, and maximum material utilization.
Almacam 2D brings CAD preparation, automatic nesting, machine programming and production management together in one integrated CAD/CAM environment. Designed for manufacturers, fabricators and industrial cutting operations, the software supports a wide range of technologies including laser, plasma, oxy-fuel, waterjet, punching and routing.
From importing CAD files to generating machine-ready NC programs, Almacam helps automate the complete programming workflow. Parts can be prepared, repaired and organized for production before Almacam's advanced nesting algorithms optimize their placement on sheets, plates or panels. The resulting nests can then be programmed according to the selected cutting technology, machine configuration and production requirements.
At the core of the solution is Alma's independently developed automatic nesting technology. The software considers actual part geometry, material constraints, rotation rules, quantities, remnants and manufacturing requirements to search for highly optimized layouts. This helps manufacturers improve material utilization while reducing the time and dependency associated with manual nesting.
Almacam also extends beyond nesting. Depending on the selected process and machine, the software can manage cutting strategies, lead-ins and lead-outs, sequencing, common-line cutting, machining features, tooling requirements, collision considerations and machine-specific programming rules. Post-processors then convert the prepared job into NC code adapted to the target machine and controller.
The platform is designed for both individual machines and multi-technology manufacturing environments. Companies operating different cutting processes can manage their programming within a consistent Almacam ecosystem while selecting the dedicated capabilities required for each technology.
